About

I’m an I.T. professional. I’m a father. I’m a husband. I’m a geek. I’m a board gamer. I’m a wine and beer explorer (but not heavily). I’m a fan of a variety of types of music. I’m recently transplanted from southern Indiana to northern Indiana. And I recently turned 41.

Since the above isn’t very informative, I’ll explain further, below.

I.T.: I’ve worked in I.T. since 1997, managing network systems for two different ISPs, before the death of dial-up. I did consultant work for a while, but now work full time for a school corporation.

Father: My daughter was born in 2013, she’s almost three years old now. She’s the light of my life, and the most amazing thing to happen to me. Everything finally made sense, the first time she wrapped her tiny hand around my finger. My son joined the family in 2015, and he will turn one soon. He is a little tank, almost weighs as much as his sister.

Husband: After a failed marriage, I met the love of my life in 2006. We married in 2010, and we brought our first child into the world in 2013. It has been an amazing nine years, and I can’t wait to see what the next few decades bring us.

Geek: Role player, board gamer, comic reader, sci-fi and fantasy fan. I’ve collected action figures, comics, books, albums, 45s, board games, and more over the years. The only collections I maintain now are board games and books. I love Doctor Who, Dragonlance, the Dresden Files, Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, and more things than I can list.

Board gamer: For nearly fifteen years, I owned and operated a hobby game store in southern Indiana. I’m a big fan of sitting down with people, and interacting over a table; having fun without staring at a screen. I think board games are great ice breakers, and great ways to bond.

Wine and Beer Explorer: I don’t drink heavily, or often. I’ll have a single beer from time to time, maybe two. But I love checking out breweries and wineries. I like stouts, ambers. I love semi-sweet reds, chambourcins, and fochs. I don’t have a pretentious “wine snob” reasons for liking them. I just like discovering new things I like.

Music: I call my tastes in music eclectic. I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s. K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Kenny Rogers and Waylon Jennings were childhood favorites. As I started to pick up some of my mother’s music loves, I got into the Beatles. These days, I like a little bit of everythng, even some country (though not much). I like Abney Park (steampunk), Eminem, Metallica (from the 80s and 90s), Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Queen, Aerosmith, movie scores, broadway musicals, and more others than I can name.

Transplant: After my daughter was born, we decided to move closer to her mother’s family. For the first time in my life, I moved from Southern Indiana, and I’m loving it here.
